After the Princess of Wales underwent surgery in January, it was announced in February that the King was diagnosed with cancer. In March, Kate herself revealed that she too had been diagnosed with cancer.
Neither of them has specified the type of cancer they have. While Charles returned to his royal duties in the spring, Kate Middleton has only made two public appearances at official events in 2024.
Since the Palace hasn’t provided any updates on their condition for a while, royal family fans are worried about the health of the King and the Princess. An unnamed source told the Daily Beast that Charles III is “still unwell” and continues to fight his illness.
Charles and Kate Middleton have not yet been cured of cancer.
“Charles is doing a magnificent job fighting cancer, but he is still not well. He handles everything fantastically to give the impression that all is fine, but those of us who are aware can see that, for example, his engagements are shorter and carefully planned,” says an anonymous source from Buckingham Palace. “For instance, sometimes he arrives by helicopter at the last minute and likely collapses into a chair when he gets home.”
The source added that people no longer believe the King will live to an old age like his parents, and that Kate Middleton understands what this could mean for her husband, Prince William—the heir to the throne—as well as their children and herself.
“I think this has made Kate focus on the reality that they might have only a few years of freedom left, and what does she want to do with that time? She wants to raise her children and do everything she can to prepare them for the life that awaits them,” the unnamed source said.
How is Princess Kate?
While battling cancer since her diagnosis in March, the Princess of Wales, Kate Middleton, was seen spending time with family at a fun-filled event. Kate, her husband, Prince William, and their kids, Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis, teamed up to play at the Nerf gun party in Norfolk.
One of Kate Middleton’s friends the head of party at the Nerf, Georgina reportedly said that the Princess of Wales is still undergoing “preventive chemotherapy” and that her treatment is going well.
“This is still a concerning time, but all signs indicate that her cancer treatment, which is ongoing, is progressing well,” she emphasized.
Georgina added that Kate’s chemotherapy must be effective as she was seen running around and playing pretend with the kids, and even enjoyed stuck in the mud with them. The youngest of Kate’s kids, Louis was reportedly the most active as he called for more Nerf play.
