Kettler’s departure is the latest in a series of changes within the Sussexes’ team in recent years. For instance, Bennett Levine, who managed Meghan and Harry’s Archewell Productions, left in January 2023.
Other key figures also moved on in 2022, including Fara Taylor, who led marketing efforts; Oscar-nominated producer Ben Browning; and Rebecca Sananes, who produced Meghan’s “Archetypes” podcast. Additionally, Mandana Dayani, the president of the Archewell Foundation, stepped down in December 2022 after serving for a year and a half.
Kettler had started his role as Chief of Staff just before Harry and Meghan’s trip to Nigeria in May 2024. His background includes extensive experience at the tech company Cognixion, clothing brand Patagonia, and other organizations. He holds an MBA in Entrepreneurship and Innovation from Clemson University and a Bachelor’s degree in Business Management from San Diego State University.
Despite Kettler’s impressive qualifications, the role did not turn out to be a good match, leading to his departure after a trial period. He was initially brought on to guide Harry in a “new phase” of his work and even accompanied the Prince to London for the 10th anniversary of the Invictus Games, a major event founded by Harry.
Despite these staffing changes, Prince Harry and Meghan remain committed to their various projects. They are preparing for a significant visit to Colombia, having accepted an invitation from Vice President Francia Márquez. Their tour will include stops in Bogotá, Cartagena, and Cali, where they will meet with local leaders, youth, and women.
This visit is part of a broader initiative connected to Colombia’s upcoming Global Ministerial Conference on Ending Violence Against Children, where the Sussexes’ Archewell Foundation is expected to play a key role. A statement read, “We are confident that their visit will further illuminate Colombia’s role as a beacon of culture and innovation.”
The upcoming trip to Colombia will be Harry and Meghan’s second tour this year. In May, they visited Nigeria, where they met with officials, visited communities, and toured an academy.
As they prepare for their South American journey, Meghan is also searching for a CEO to lead her cooking and lifestyle business, American Riviera Orchard.
Meanwhile, Meghan recently made headlines for her behavior during an August 2024 interview with Prince Harry. The couple broke their three-year joint interview hiatus with a compelling appearance on “Sunday Morning,” where they introduced a gripping new initiative.
However, it was Meghan’s body language toward her husband that captured public attention. Five key photographs reveal the Duchess’s cold demeanor, which a royal expert suggests was intended to send a shocking message.
The interview unveiled a new initiative by Meghan and Harry’s Archewell Foundation called The Parents Network, designed to support parents whose children have been victimized by online bullying. The couple sat down for the interview in early August 2024, marking their first joint interview in three years.
During the interview, Meghan was asked about her decision to publicly share her struggles with thoughts of suicide, a topic she had previously discussed during her explosive March 2021 interview with Oprah Winfrey. Meghan responded thoughtfully, emphasizing the importance of being open about personal pain and trauma, especially regarding mental health.
As parents of two young children, Meghan and Harry are acutely aware of the dangers the digital world poses. “Our kids are young — they’re 3 and 5. They’re amazing,” Meghan said tenderly about their son, Prince Archie, and daughter, Princess Lilibet.
Harry echoed this sentiment, highlighting the urgency of protecting children from online dangers. “At this point, we’ve got to the stage where almost every parent needs to be a first responder,” he said.
Meghan further urged viewers to consider online safety from a personal perspective, asking them to think, “What if it was my daughter? What if it was my son?” This perspective, she suggested, drives the need for solutions.
Following the interview, a royal expert analyzed Meghan’s body language, noting her mix of warmth and reserve, particularly in her interactions with Harry. At times, Meghan’s expression was calm but serious, conveying a subtle message to her husband. Social media users also commented on her demeanor, with some interpreting her gestures as controlling rather than comforting.
The interview, which launched a new initiative, also offered a glimpse into the deeper layers of Meghan and Harry’s relationship. Despite Kettler’s departure, the Sussexes remain focused on their global mission and commitment to mental health.
